Abstract

A new mutation in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)
from cultivar ??Nacional-5HA?? is described, which had not been
observed before in Cuba. The mutant is characterized for
presenting a multipinnate leaf in contrast to the normal leaf of
chickpea crop which is imparipinnate; it has a 72-day-cycle
from sowing to harvest. Leaf characteristic in of this variety
has a high discriminating value for variety characterization
and contributes to extend chickpea variability in the country.
