Abstract

A comparative study of water management in
two irrigation systems and its effect on the electric conductivity
of soil saturation extract and rice yield was conducted at
??Cubanacán? farm, pertaining to ??Los Palacios? Rice
Agroindustrial Complex, for three poorly-rainy and three rainy
seasons. Results showed a significant crop yield reduction
and an increasing electric conductivity of soil saturation extract
when irrigation was performed on sloping terraces, whereas
water management on nonsloping terraces did not show any
statistical effects, either upon yield or electric conductivity.
