Abstract

An experiment was carried out in «Los Palacios
» Rice Research Station, during the period between the
years 1995 and 2000, in order to see the ratoon effect on
agricultural yield using a short-cycle rice variety. Results
showed that, compared to the control, the lower the sprouts
were cut, the higher the yield was reached in relation to the
first crop. In a similar way behaved the leaf area index and the
number of fertile stalks. In relation to the main crop, the sprout
cycle was reduced by a time range of 35 to 55 days.
