Recomendation domains: establishment and significance for the scientific analysis of agroecosystems
Main Article Content
Abstract
adjusted to producers´ situation and their specific
technological demands for encouraging a sustainable
agricultural development, this research was conducted with
the aim of determining farm groups or recommendation domains
existing in Zaragoza community, besides identifying which are
the main variables responsible for grouping and characterizing
them from a socioeconomic and ecological viewpoint. Thus,
12 variables providing a high discriminating power to farm
differentiation analysis in this community from San José de las
Lajas, were determined through multivariate analytical
techniques, standing out the following ones: (i) land use
capacity (ii) workforce based on the amount of persons living
and working in farms and (iii) system specialization with a
variation coefficient of 196.57; 104.55 and 137.6 %, respectively,
as the highest discriminating power variables for differentiation
analysis. It was also determined that there are three farmer groups
or recommendation domains taking part in 67, 13 and 20 %,
respectively, with different features and specific needs. Domains
were characterized and the conditions created to formulate
differentiated strategies and actions according to the needs,
potentialities and problems of each group established.
