Abstract

Gluconacetobacter diazotrophicus, a recently
discovered bacterium,  is able to associate to vegetable species
with high sugar levels. It permits to increase available nitrogen
for the plant by nitrogen fixation process. The microorganism
also releases up to 50 % of this transformed element. Besides,
it allows yield increase by producing physiologically active
substances. In spite of different theories for nature dispersion
of the bacterium, as well as its colonization and distribution
in vegetables, it is necessary to carry on studies for obtaining
a product to increase growth, development and yield of
important crops. Investigations to elucidate the controversial
aspects by the international scientific community are very
necessary too.
