Abstract

With the purpose of improving plant growth
under in vitro culture, different alternatives have been studied,
among which it is necessary to highlight the handling of culture
conditions and the application of growth stimulating
substances to culture media. The bacterial biopreparation is
made up of natural products, generally obtained from promising
native strains having a chemical composition of a variable
biological activity; but it is still a lot to investigate about the
influence of their application on plant growth and development.
The present work was carried out with the objective of
evaluating the effect of a biopreparation obtained from
Burkholderia cepacia in culture media on coffee (Coffea
canephora var. Robusta) micropropagation. The effect of this
bioproduct was determined at the callus regeneration phase
through employing an auxinic extract coming from it; therefore,
doses were readjusted. Favorable effects were observed for
the variables evaluated in the coffee callus from the genotypes
studied, when adding to the culture medium concentrations of
the biopreparation between 0.7 and 0.9 mg.L-1, reaching better
results than the control, which is attributed to the chemical
composition of the bioproduct. Results suggest the possibility
of using this bioproduct as an auxinic source, to improve the
efficiency of micropropagation processes.
