Abstract

Felo is the first maize variety obtained through
participatory plant breeding techniques. In 1999, the first diversity
fair was celebrated at the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences,
where farmers from ??Gilberto León? Agricultural Production
Cooperative, San Antonio de los Baños, Havana, made up a pool of
seeds that passed across several bulk selection phases, achieving a
stable-yielding maize variety with low inputs and a high feeding quality.
