Abstract

A developed use of agricultural inoculants
contributes to decrease chemical fertilizer application and
protect the environment. The practical introduction of such
inoculants, however, must be economic, without detriment of
traditional agricultural yields. In the present work, a new
technology for producing two solid Azospirillum inoculants:
a wet seed dressing and a wettable powder is proposed.
Economical indexes of inoculant production for an industrial
plant using peat and filter mud from sugar cane mills as carrier
materials are presented and the economical feasibility of these
inoculants in sugar cane and rice crops is discussed.
