Plant regeneration of Anthurium andreanum Lind through in vitro culture
Main Article Content
Abstract
methodology for the micropropagation of Anthurium
andreanum L. Young leaves from mother plants under
greenhouse conditions were used as starting material. Different
procedures were tested in order to determine the optimal
desinfection method: double desinfection of leaves with
sodium hypochlorite during 30 and 20 min enabled to 96 %
healthy explants. MS medium supplemented by different
concentrations of BAP and 2,4-D was used for callus induction
and subculture. For sprout regeneration and rooting, two
concentrations of BAP were tested, more than 10 adventitious
sprouts per explant were obtained in all varieties with 1 mg.L-1
de BAP. Finally complete plantlets were formed, which
developed satisfactorily under greenhouse conditions.
