Abstract

Cytogenetic characterization and pollen fertility
study were made on ten banana cultivars (Musa spp) belonging
to the collection from INIVIT, Santo Domingo, Villa Clara. The
diploid condition of these clones was proved by showing
2n=2x=22 chromosomes. Pollen fertility was studied. ??Paka??,
??Mundo?? and ??Tien taan ha?? clones were selected as male
parents for crossing programs.
