Influencia de los medios de cultivo en la micropropagación de plátano (Musa spp.) y malanga (Xanthosoma sagittifolium Schott.)

Abstract
greatly on the proper nutrient medium. Murashige-Skoog
medium (MS) has the necessary nutritional requirements for
most vegetable species. It has been widely used to prepare
commercial mixtures as BioCen formulated products. In this
paper, BioCen formulated media were compared with
traditionally prepared media in dasheen and banana
propagation, with the objective to give high accuracy and
advantage in culture media preparation. Multiplication index,
plant number and plant height were evaluated using a
randomized complete design through Duncan??s test at 5 %.
Results showed that VitroBase as well as VitroCen PLML can
be employed in dasheen and banana micropropagation
respectively under the described culture conditions.
