Abstract

Triticale, which had never been tested before in Cuba.
This scientific note is about a triticale cultivar selected in Cuba and its
characteristics (INCA TT-7), selected out of a collection lines from
the International Center for Maize and Wheat Improvement
(CIMMYT). Is tolerant to Helminthosporium sativum, as well as,
Septoria (S. tritici) and leaf rust resistant (P. triticina). In addition, it
is appreciated by its high crop yield, and its grain and fodder dry
mass production. Triticale had a good adaptation to the western and
central parts of the island, where it was tested; and it was selected for
extensive studies under productive conditions.
