Biological activity of Pectimorf on the in vitro morphogenesis of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum, Mill) var. Amalia
Main Article Content
Abstract
of Plant Biotechnology from the National Institute of
Agricultural Sciences (INCA) have shown the role of
oligogalacturonides as bioregulators of the in vitro
morphogenetic activity in different plant species. In this work,
the biological activity of different concentrations of the
oligopectate Pectimorf was studied in the in vitro
morphogenetic response of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum,
Mill). The treatments used as explants the apical segments of
hypocotyls and cotyledons coming from in vitro seedlings of
Amalia cultivars, which were cultivated in MS medium
supplemented with different concentrations of Pectimorf (1, 5,
10 and 15 mg.L-1), in absence or presence of low concentrations
of BAP (0.25, 0.5 and 1 mg.L-1). The study showed the favorable
action of this product on the in vitro tomato regeneration.
It was established that, for hypocotyls, the optimal
concentration of Pectimorf was 10 mg. L-1. In the case of
cotyledons, the best combination was the one using 10 mg.L-1
Pectimorf with 0.25 and 0.5 mg.L-1 BAP as a complement in the
culture medium.
