Abstract

This paper presents the main characteristics of a new clone of sweet potato, obtained from some material collected in Camagüey through conventional breeding methods, such as elite plant selection and seed production from selected tubers. INIVIT- B-96 clone showed a high yield potential, good agamic seed production quality, a fast foliage covering and high production volumes of beta-carotenes, fiber and dry matter per unit of harvested area.
