Abstract

The measurement of leaf area is generally carriedout by destructive and laborious methods, being necessarythe settlement of non-destructive methods, within thepossibilities. The present paper has the objective of finding anon-destructive method to estimate leaf area in mameyseedlings (Pauteria sapota (Jaccq), using the linialmeasurements of leaves. With lenth, a good adjustment isachieved, independently of leaf width, showing a smalldifference with the value obtained by the product of lenth xwidth, considering also that residuals obtained behavior wasvery similar to that described for leaf lenth x width product.
