Abstract
stages that �??Cultivos Tropicales�?� journal has gone through
since its first issue at the National Institute of Agricultural
Sciences in 1979 until achieving its 20 years, and the steps it
should follow to improve its quality and competitive level
within its environment. Therefore, different aspects of the
journal are approached in this study: general traits (frequency
and formats), scientific quality of every article published (peer
review, bibliographic references and other added values),
exchange and suscription, international recognition and the
recommendations become a highly qualified scientific journal.
