Abstract

Extracellular proteins EP3 and PE32 in Coffea canephora var. Robusta and Coffea arabica cv. Catimor cell suspension cultures were studied. The embryogenic process was immunochemically characterized by polyclonal antibodies of both proteins. The behavior of extracellular proteins proved the embryogenic character of the culture. The use of these proteins as molecular markers is suggested for coffee somatic embryogenesis.
