Abstract

Indigenous fungi and their clusters, coming fromsaline soils, were isolated, identified and multiplied, with theaim of characterizing the mycorrhizal potential of Las Caobasarea in Holguín province. Regarding their morphological traits,28 morphotypes of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) wereidentified and grouped according to their homogeneity onshape, colour, outer wall appearance, spore size and the hyphalconnection presence, shape and coloration. From themorphological analysis of isolated spores, four of the knowngenera (Glomus, Acaulospora, Gigaspora and Scutellospora)were found, Glomus being the most common; besides, 35 % ofthe species were considered as new ones, since they had notbeen described in literature.
