Abstract

The main characteristics of a new terrestrial orchid
genotype obtained in Cuba by modifications taken place during in
vitro culture of Spathoglottis plicata var. Rosa seeds are presented.
Lorita has white sepals and petals, a distinctive characteristic from
its donating genotype. This new species will make the environment
more beautiful and it is a valuable contribution to Cuban ornamental
agriculture.
