Performance of water relations in white basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) irrigated by different water rates
Main Article Content
Abstract
L.). Therefore, different water levels were established in the soil, evaluating water potential, stomatal conductance, relative water content, fresh and dry matters of plant top. Results proved that by applying 75 % of the rainfall-evaporation balance
a week before irrigation, the best values are achieved, they ranging from 20 to 40 g fresh matter of shoots and leaves repectively whereas 6 to 9 g dry matter. Acceptable values were shown by those variables recording water status of plants.
