Review The culture of Heliconias

Abstract
information about heliconias, which is a very important species
for flower shop. Several aspects related to crop taxonomy,
botanical description and floral biology, genetics and breeding
are analyzed. The way it is propagated and the influence of
environmental conditions on crop growth and flowering, as
well as cultural practices needed to improve production quality
are emphasized. Finally, some criteria on harvesting and marketing
are evaluated.
