Abstract

During three years (1996, 1997 and 1998), eight
new soybean varieties were comparatively studied in the fields
of the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences (INCA). They
were selected for their attributes to be seeded in spring. The
variety Cubasoy-23 was included as control. The characters
with higher incidence: plant height, branching, sheath
distribution and grain size were evaluated in all varieties, so
that they may avoid weed appearance and damaged production
as a result of climate. Incasoy-24 variety was selected for great
scale production and mechanized crop; on the other hand,
Incasoy-27 variety was selected for small area production and
hand harvest.
