Abstract

The salinity tolerance of 12 varieties of Vigna unguiculata (L.), based on yield and its main components, related to relative ion accumulation and protein content was evaluated. Through the Cluster Analysis the tested varieties were collected in different groups for its tolerance to stress. Through the correlation coefficient between similarity associated matrixes of established dendrograms, a high percentage of congruency between classifications was observed, indicating the possibility to complement the salttolerance evaluation based on agronomic characters with other indicators. Whithin the evaluated materials, Trópico-782 variety was the most tolerant to salinity.
