Abstract

In the crop seasons 2006-2007, 20007-2008 and 2008-2009 were planted in controlled conditions (house of culture) botanical seeds (SB) of potato obtained by hybridization and open pollination (PL). The aim of this study was to evaluate morfoagronómic characters and uniformity of tubers. We found variability in the progeny, although the hybrid progenies Atlantic x Aninca, 2-13-98 x 1-10-96 and Yara x 9-80-98 showed high uniformity of tubers color. While Atlantic x Aninca and Samila-PL showed high uniformity for tubers shape. The vigor, plant height and tubers yield could be related to the effect of heterosis or hybrid vigor in the hybrid progenies and the depressing effect of inbreeding in the progeny of PL in varying degrees.
