Main Article Content
Abstract
Agricultural Innovation to reduce drought impact in ??Las
Caobas? community, Gibara municipality, Holguín province, a
diversity study was carried out with fruit-bearing trees, to face
women??s need in this community and also due to the
significance of such crops for reducing high temperatures, as
a result of supplying shade and creating a fresh atmosphere,
besides its potentialities in many cases as medicinal plants
and cooking application. Results showed three families as the
most representative and adapted to the prevailing conditions
of climate and soil in the community, which were: Rutaceae
(four species), Annonaceae (three species) and Anacardiaceae
(three species). The ecological indexes of Margalef (Dmg),
Simpson (?) and inverse of Simpson (1-?) respectively proved
the richness, wealth and equity of the fruit-bearing species
generally present in the farm and community.
