Abstract

The present work was aimed at concluding the
optimal acclimatization period of henequen (Agave fourcroydes
Lem) vitroplants. Thus, 7-9-cm-tall vitroplants were selected,
using zeolite-fermented henequen pulp mixture as a substrate
with 10 % organic matter. The performance of different morphophysiological
indicators was evaluated at vitroplant release
and during the acclimatization phase in four stay periods (15,
30, 45 and 60 days) under greenhouse conditions. Its further
evolution was also evaluated at nursery stage. The stable and
favourable growth indicators recorded as well as vitroplant
water status indicated that the acclimatization stage can be
concluded in 30 days, when henequen vitroplants are ready
for the nursery stage.
