Abstract

With the objective to analyze the response of 12
wheat varieties to salinity at the early stages of plant growth,
an experience was carried out using two different levels of
NaCl. The variables evaluated were plant height, root length
and fresh and dry matters. Through the Principal Component
Analysis, indicators of the most contribution to the total
variability were established and through the Cluster analysis,
varieties were collected in three groups, demonstrating the
existence of variability for its response to stress. Five mutants
of the variety CubaC-204 were placed in group I, showing the
major response at the early periods of growth, which will start
to be evaluated under field conditions based on yield and its
components.
